Lindsay Normand: Yogi, reader, storyteller at heart
Hi! I’m Lindsay Normand, a senior journalism student from Hudson, New Hampshire! I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, practicing yoga, reading books, crocheting and, of course, writing.
I have loved writing for as long as I have been able to string letters together. I have fond memories of elementary level writing assignments, urging me to document the details of a frivolous, childish weekend or giving me the space to create my own stories straight from my 6-year-old imagination.

Over the years, I have grown as both a writer and a person. I knew early on that I wanted to spend my life writing, in any capacity possible. That goal brought me to Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts as an honors student studying journalism. I managed to find my voice while learning how to be a voice for others. I am currently the Arts and Entertainment Editor for Suffolk University’s student publication The Suffolk Journal. In that position, I have had the privilege to see the inner workings of a newspaper and highlight the work of creatives within the city of Boston. Getting to hear from people that want to share what they love with the world has reshaped my love for storytelling.
The appreciation I have for the craft extends beyond my ability to find the right words. My time as a journalism student has taught me to pause and recognize the ongoing story every human being carries with them each and every day. They are all stories worth telling; you just have to dig a little deeper to discover them. Whether these stories manifest as words on paper or narrative visuals on the tiny screen in your back pocket, I strive to use my skills to give these stories the attention they deserve.
Storytelling, in all forms, reminds us that we are human. It provides an opportunity for connection, something that feels all too fleeting in the speed of our daily lives. The more we know about the world around us, the more informed we are. The more informed we are, the more we can empathize and simply be human. As a journalist, I strive to be a voice for everyday people that get lost amid the hustle of life. If my storytelling does anything, I hope it encourages humanity.
